Crush Camping: What to Pack for an Outdoor Music Festival

If you've never been to an outdoor music festival, you're missing out. Going to something like Electric Forest is an experience like no other. You get to vibe with nature, chill with new friends, and enjoy fantastic music, all over the same weekend.

Of course, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. If you want to have a magical weekend at an outdoor music festival, you'll have to prepare yourself properly. Just bringing your festival clothing isn't going to be enough. You'll need to make sure that you spend a good amount of time preparing your packing list in order to have the most enjoyable experience.

Thankfully, Freedom Rave Wear is here to help you out with some suggestions of our own. Not only will we give you your outdoor music festival camping checklist, but we'll throw in a raving checklist, too - just because we love you all that much.

Camping Checklist

Tent

Sleeping under the stars sounds all romantic and stuff, but you're probably going to want to bring a tent. At least someone in your group of friends should be handling this. Make sure you also bring all the things you need to set it up. Of course, you also need to make sure you get a tent that will fit all your gang. Thebest tent is going to be mostly up to your personal preference.

Blankets and Sleeping Bag

Yes, we know that you're going to go to a music festival somewhere warm, in the middle of summer. Yes, we get that you'll be wearing the skimpiest rave festival outfits you dare during the day. But even the warmest places can turn super chilly during the night. Trust us, bring something for warmth.

Comfy Clothes

Oh, while we're talking about keeping toasting in the evening, make sure that you're not just bringing your festival clothing. It might not be sexy, but a hoodie and sweat pants will be great for after the party is over and you just want to chill.

Swimsuit

Yep, here's another article of clothing to bring beyond the rave festival outfits. And yes, we're telling you to bring one even if you're not going to go swimming. Aswimsuit is very useful if you're going to be using the showers on site. Plus, you can swap out your rave gear for a swimsuit if it starts raining.

Towel

This one should be pretty obvious. You should never be heading anywhere without a handy towel always within reach. A compact water wicking towel is your best bet since they’re thin, absorbent and dry quickly!

Trashbag

Be a responsible festival goer! Collect all the trash that you make, and take it with you. This is especially important if you're camping. You want to leave the place as beautiful as when you arrived.

Toiletries

Of course, you're gonna bring the toothbrush. But make sure to consider the extra toiletries you'll need for a rave. Do you prefer hair spray or hair gel? Got your glitter? Make sure you bring all your specifics, plus any personal medication you need. And don’t forget the sunscreen! SPF protection is hot.

Chargers

Exactly what kinda chargers you bring is up to you, but make sure not to forget your own essentials. If you want to have a working phone for the weekend (essential if there's an emergency), you'll want a way to keep it charged up.

Raving Checklist

Your Cute Rave Outfit

If you're heading to a festival, you'll want festival specific clothing! When choosing your festival wear, the best idea is to consider where it will be happening and when. If it's somewhere hot in the summer, it's probably time to strip down tobooty shorts and crop tops. If it's not quite that warm, maybe look into festival dresses instead.

And of course, don't forget to bring all your accessories! A little bit of accessory swapping over the weekend can give your rave fashion new life. It'll also be what helps you stand out from the crowd.

Plenty of Water

Bring your own reusable water bottle. Drink plenty of water. This will make all the difference with your energy level. Trust us. Getting an aqua pack can also be a great idea to keep yourself hydrated while on the go.

Healthy Snacks

Go back and mentally add a "cooler" to your camping list. Lots of music festivals will offer food. However, it might be pricey for some or not up to your tastes. Healthy snacks will keep you raving all through the day and night.

Deodorant Wipes

These things are great for a quick refresher if you don't want to head all the way back to the showers. Keeping a few of these on you at all times is a great way to stay fresh with minimal effort.

Fanny Pack

You probably have a ton of other "rave essentials" that are important to you. Bringing a way to carry them all, along with extra rave accessories, gives you the most important things right at the tips of your fingers whenever you need them.
