ShambCares: Staying Safe on the Farm

Shambhala Music Festival is a place of joy, connection, and unforgettable experiences. With it being just a few days away it is important to highlight the On-Site Health + Safety Service. To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time, Shambhala offers a variety of resources and services focused on safety and harm reduction. Here's a guide to staying safe on the farm:

ANKORS

Located in the Health & Wellbeing Zone, ANKORS is dedicated to promoting safety and harm reduction. Their services include:


- Information on drug effects, risks, dosing, and mixing
- Free drug checking
- Free condoms, lubricants, and safer sex information
- Safer party info, harm reduction supplies, resources, and support
- Naloxone training and education about safer use practices
- Providing fentanyl test strips and education

Look for the ANKORS volunteers, easily identified by their purple bandanas. They are available:

- Tuesday: 4 pm - 8 pm
- Wednesday to Sunday: 11 am - 2 am

Fentanyl test strips are also available after hours from 2:30 - 10:30 am.

Safe Space

The Safe Space is dedicated to self-identified women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and other community members who feel vulnerable and need support. Trained volunteers provide crisis intervention and connect individuals to resources. This inclusive space is open 24 hours a day, ensuring a secure environment for all attendees.

Medical Services

Located in Downtown Shambhala, the Medical Services are available 24/7 to address anything from minor cuts to medical emergencies. The team includes:

- Trained medical professionals
- Walk-in visits as needed
- Rapid mobile-first response teams for emergencies
- Plan B availability
- Prescription support via the local pharmacy

Our dedicated medical team is here to assist with any health concerns during the festival.

Outreach

Our Outreach Teams, identifiable by their purple consent bandanas, provide consent and harm reduction education, resources, and support. They are equipped with radios to connect guests to other services as needed. Consent Ambassador volunteers can be found at the festival gate and roaming the grounds, ready to answer health and safety questions and direct you to harm reduction services.

The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary offers a calm, safe place for those experiencing mental health concerns or needing a quiet space to rest. Located next to Medical Services, The Sanctuary provides support for:

- Stress, overwhelm, or isolation
- Anxiety, panic attacks, hallucinations, delusions, or dissociation

Open 24 hours a day, The Sanctuary is staffed with experienced professionals ready to help.

Camp Clean Beats

Camp Clean Beats is a sober-supportive space for ravers who choose to abstain from substances, including alcohol. Offering peer-based recovery support and daily meetings, Camp Clean Beats welcomes all methods and durations of sobriety. Meeting times are:

- Thursday to Sunday: 10-11 am, 4-5 pm, and 9-10 pm
