It’s almost a week till EDC Las Vegas begins! EDCLV is one of those festivals that every raver has dreamed about. It’s a three-day festival that was originally held every year in mid-June, but has been moved to mid-May to accommodate one big aspect that wasn’t available previously. 2018 will be the first year that EDCLV will offer camping! Who’s excited? This year will be my first EDC and I can hardly wait for the non-stop music and good vibes!
Date/ Location
EDCLV will be held from May 18th-20th in Las Vegas at the Los Vegas Motor Speedway. Besides the three days that EDC is happening, there are also shows and events based around EDC that are happening between May 16th-23rd, so you definitely would not want to miss those!
Tickets
Unfortunately, GA tickets are sold out but VIP tickets are still available if you are 21 or older. However, you are planning to buy a ticket from someone else, make sure you buy one from a legitimate seller to avoid getting scammed.
Camping spots are unfortunately sold out for EDC. This will be the first EDC with camping, so it’s definitely exciting to see what Insomniac Events has planned for this year. Knowing the work and energy they put into the production of EDC, it’s definitely going to be an experience you won’t want to miss!
Lodging/ Getting to the festival
As mentioned above, camping is going to be an option for EDC this year. One big perk of EDC Camping: not having to worry about taking the shuttles or dealing with traffic getting to EDC and back. On top of that, EDC has announced that Excision, G Jones, Habstrakt and other artists will be kicking off EDC with a pre-party on Thursday, and the EDC campground will include fun amenities such as a giant pool, a go-kart track, a roller rink, bars, gardens, food trucks, a farmer’s market, and many more fun activities!

If you missed getting a camping pass for EDC, you will still have the option to stay at a hotel on the Las Vegas strip or find an Airbnb in the area. To get to the festival from where you are, you can either drive your own car and purchase a parking pass, or if you don’t have a car with you, you will have the option to take a shuttle from the strip. Both parking passes and shuttle passes are on sale on the EDC website, but make sure to buy these before EDC!
Essentials
Hydration backpack
It’s important to hydrate at any music festival, but having a hydration backpack at EDC will save your life. Plus, if you don’t want to spend a ton of money to keep buying bottled water for all three days, getting a hydration backpack is the way to go.
Comfortable shoes/insoles
You definitely want to make sure to bring comfortable shoes, since EDC is a 3-day event and you’d want your feet to last all weekend. My festival favorites are Vans, they go with anything and are really comfortable. If you decide to wear heels or boots, make sure to have a spare of sneakers just in case your feet get tired!
Hand fans/misting fan
EDC will be hot, so bring something to help you cool down! I usually bring hand fans to music festivals (you can find cheap ones at Dollar Tree), I misplace them a lot, so I usually get something cheap.
Pasties
If you have pasties incorporated in your rave outfits, make sure to bring an extra pair just in case! It’s less stressful to be prepared in case of a wardrobe malfunction.
Wet wipes
Bring wet wipes in case the porta potties run out of toilet paper.
Lineup/ Stages
EDC will have eight stages this year. Each stage is catered to different genres and will give you different visual and audio experiences, here’s a look at the artists that will be at EDC this year.

And the most important headliner of all: You
Who are you excited to see at EDC? I'm excited to see my usual favorites, Illenium, Kygo, Zeds Dead, and Rezz, but I'm also excited to see Jai Wolf and Don Diablo for the first time. I'm also excited to meet new people, trade kandi, and experience the greatness of being at EDC! This will be my first EDC and my first festival outside of the Pacific Northwest, so I’m excited to finally experience it with all of you! I’m road tripping from Seattle with my husband, so it’s definitely going to be an adventure.
