5 Can't-Miss Musicians Coming to CRSSD Festival

If the So Cal weather has you feeling like it should already be festival season, well, guess what... it’s here! The third installment of San Diego’s wildly successful and even wildly(er?) amazingCRSSD Festival is just days away. And with acts as big as the ones gracing us with their presence at Waterfront Park, there’s no need to wait until Ultra or Coachella to ring in the 2016 festival season.

Two days of music across 3 stages with40+ artists means CRSSD Fest has a lot to offer and we have a lot of choices to make. Before finalizing your plan of attack, check out these 5 must-see artists you don’t want to miss:

Gesaffelstein

Day 1, Ocean View

Techno meets metal (the element, not the genre) at an intersection called industrial house and Gesaffelstein is the gate keeper. This DJ/producer’s name promises an exploration of art, the universe and the impact of tiny details. That approach has put darkly beautiful spins on songs from Lana del Rey, Justice and Depeche Mode and plenty of his own originals. Gesaffelstein is known for sets played to the mood and setting of a venue and with setting being CRSSD Fest’s biggest advantage, we’re in for a treat.

Odesza

Day 1, Ocean View

There’s not a much bigger festival letdown than being underwhelmed but the top-billed headliner. Thank you CRSSD Festival for coming through! Putting as much emphasis on the song as they do on the beats, this dynamic duo that will set the perfect stage for splashing around in a fountain or two and chilling barefoot in the grass while taking in the gorgeous view.

Jamie Jones

Day 1, The Palms

With a sound that somehow glides between extreme chill and “Am I in a video game?”, Jamie Jones has been credited with transcending genres and transforming modern techno. His band, Hot Natured, is one of the most sought-after electronic acts in the world and he’s bringing his synthy sound to San Diego. Backup plan: If you miss Jones at Waterfront Park, there’s another chance to catch him at theFINGRS CRSSD after-party at Bang Bang.

Man with goggles

HI-LO
Day 2, Ocean View

Does the name Oliver Heldens ring a bell? If that question makes you squeal a little on the inside you may already know that Heldens is also the genius behind HI-LO’s productions. HI-LO’s debut track “Crank It Up” was released on Mad Decent with “Renegade Mastah” following close behind on Heldeep Records. A little deep house, a little rasta...he knows how to get down.

Hi-Lo

Gorgon City

Day 2, The Palms
If you’re interested in finding the best dance party CRSSD Fest has to offer, DO NOT miss Gorgon City. A break from the traditional DJ set, you’ll be treated to a full band with soul singers, ok, and also somereally sick beats. They’ll have you ready toGo All Night.
