After two years of make-shift pandemic Pride Festivals, the Western world is largely back to normal. What is likely to follow is a very loud, and very proud Pride season.
If youâre going to hit one or more Prides this summer, youâll want to start shopping for your lewks today.
This year, Freedom Rave Wear has created a signature line of unisex clothing inspired by the colors of the various LGBTQ2+ flags. While this article is mostly focused on menâs pride outfit ideas, all of our clothing is purposefully ungendered, so you can wear whatever design you feel most confident in.
Pride is many things to many people, and it was important to us to celebrate that diversity in our designs.
Read on for our mosted tooted Pride and circuit party outfits in 2022.
Menâs Crop Tops
We love our cis-ters. But the fact that theyâve greatly monopolized crop tops over the past few decades is criminal. In our opinion, menâtwink, twunk, otter, bear, or otherwiseâlook incredible flaunting their midriffs.Â
Now, to give credit where credit is due, there were a few pioneers of menâs crop tops in the 80s. See ababy-faced Johnny Depp inNightmare on Elm Street for reference. But the 80s male crop top didnât receive much attention off the football field.
Today, menâs crop tops arenât just common in gay spaces, but throughout most large cities. Crop tops are extremely easy to style and dress up. Also wearing a crop top to a circuit party or Pride event will help keep you cool while you dance the house down boots yass gawd.
Menâs Bodysuits
Menâs bodysuits are exploding. Weâre seeing gays wearing them to the beach, at Pride, and yes, to the clurrrb. While this genderbending fashion statement can definitely be perceived as a bold move, wearing a onepiece under a pair of shorts or pants can help reel in the more revealing aspect of the lookâaka the crotch.
With our new Pride collection, you can find menâs bodysuits in a range of psychedelic queer prints. As mentioned, each print is inspired by the colors of the various LGBTQ2+ flags. For example, we have a print that combines all the colours of the rainbow flag đłď¸âđ as well as a print that only has the baby blue, pink and white of the trans flag đłď¸ââ§ď¸.Â
Menâs Tank Tops
In my humble homo opinion, gay male fashion focuses on two things: playing with gender norms and highlighting the male physique. Tank tops are extremely popular among us queers because they lean heavily into the latter.
Shoulders, biceps, and triceps are on full display in a tank top. Tanks can be loose or fitted, depending on your personal preference. But best of all, they can be heavily accessorized for maximum awesomeness. Try a bicep band to further draw attention to the guns or add a choker to give that Iâm-about-to-seduce-your-dadje ne sais quoifantasy realness.Â
Menâs Pride Accessories
Speaking of accessories, we highly recommend purchasing a few bits and bobs to dress up your Pride outfits. For example, draping yourself in afestival scarf adds a splash of color to any look.Â
In terms of jewellery, pearls have become extremely trendy in menâs fashion this year. Same goes for dangling earrings, chokers, andcandy bracelets.
Hats are another simple way to put a spin on an otherwise straight-forward Pride outfit. Depending on your outfit, consider adding abucket, cowboy, or brimmed hat. Even berets are very on trend this year.
Menâs Thongs & Jockstraps
Weâd be remiss if we didnât talk about the sexy trends weâre seeing in gay delicates. While jockstraps hold a special place in queer fashion, menâs thongs have also become extremely popular. If youâre comfortable subverting underwear norms, we recommend wearing it just an inch higher than your jeans or shorts so everyone in the crowd gets a teensy taste of what lies beneath.
While we donât sell underwear or thongs at Freedom Rave Wear, we love all the titillating options atAndrew Christian,Coyote Jocks, andJJ Malibu.Â
