Rave Sustainably at Snowglobe 2026

Love to hit the slopes for New Years but also want to rage through the night? Snowglobe is the perfect event for you! This festival takes place in California at the Lake Tahoe Community College, where mountain magic meets electronic music euphoria. The temperature may be cold but the lineup is straight fire! Artists including Eric Prydz, RL Grime, Wax Motif and many more bring the heat to one of the most unique festival experiences in North America. Snowglobe has teamed up with Brownies & Lemonade to serve you three days of some seriously saucy beats in one of the most breathtaking settings you'll ever dance in. A Festival That Actually Cares About the Planet

What separates this event from many others is its genuine dedication to sustainability—not just talk, but real action. In 2018, the festival donated 200 sugar pine seedlings to help restore part of the beautiful forest of Lake Tahoe. The following year they doubled that commitment to 400 seedlings, and by 2026, they've become one of the greenest festivals in the scene.

Snowglobe has partnered with Waste Free Earth to help drive the fight for a virtually waste-free festival. Waste Free Earth has worked to divert over 250,000 pounds of trash at events and festivals by implementing their compostable cutlery and zero-waste initiatives. Snowglobe has made the complete switch from plastic to all compostable cups, plates, utensils and everything else. When you're dancing under the stars at Lake Tahoe, you can feel good knowing your festival footprint is as minimal as possible. These efforts make a huge difference in creating a greener planet—proof that the rave community can party hard AND protect the environment we love.

What You Can (and Can't) Bring Inside

Because Snowglobe is so environmentally conscious, they have strict guidelines about what enters the venue. They don't allow things such as totems or outside food and drink—but it's all in service of keeping Lake Tahoe pristine for generations of ravers to come. Below you can see the list of items allowed and not allowed into the venue. Pro tip: review this list before you pack so you don't have to stash items at security.

Festival Amenities and Logistics

As for amenities, Snowglobe has seriously upgraded their festival experience over the years. They offer secure lockers for purchase (absolute lifesaver when you're switching between snow gear and rave outfits), delicious food and beverage trucks featuring local Lake Tahoe vendors, professional snowboarder half pipes for daytime entertainment, and an email list that allows you to check in before the event and ask any questions you might have.

They also offer bus transportation from select hotels, as well as a bundle package where you can buy your ticket and shuttle pass all in one. But be careful and make sure the hotel you booked is actually a shuttle stop. I can tell you from personal experience that it does not stop at every hotel, and they do not refund you if you make that mistake. Double-check the official Snowglobe website for the current shuttle route before you book.

Tickets, Passes, and Age Policy

Let's talk about the ticket situation here for a minute. This is a very popular event and tickets often sell out fast—sometimes within hours of going on sale. For 2026, keep an eye on release dates because waiting means missing out. If general admission sells out, you still have options: last-chance general admission, VIP upgrades, third-party ticket platforms and people who are selling theirs through the official exchange.

They also give you the option to pre-order a portable charger for your cell phone and other chargeable items you want to have at your disposal during the festival. Trust me, when it's freezing outside, your phone battery drains faster than usual—this service is worth every penny. Another interesting thing about this event is that it is all ages, making it one of the few major electronic festivals where you can actually bring your family. Children under 10 are granted free entry, though honestly, the late-night sets and cold temps make this more of a 21+ vibe.

How to Dress for Snowglobe: The Ultimate Cold-Weather Rave Guide

Here's the real talk: Snowglobe is cold as F**K. We're not exaggerating for effect—temperatures can drop to below freezing, it can literally snow during sets, and standing still in the crowd means you'll feel every degree. So please please please wear the appropriate clothing. This isn't the place for your typical festival bodysuits unless you're layering serious thermal gear underneath.

I recommend you wear your actual snowboarding jacket and pants—yes, really. This is a mountain festival, not an indoor rave. Ladies, if you don't want to commit to full snow pants, I got away with thermal leggings layered under two pairs of regular leggings, plus thigh-high sweater socks tucked into waterproof boots. But staying dry and warm is much more important than looking cute. That said, there are definitely some really cute gloves, rave scarves for extra neck warmth, and beanies on the market so you can look cute AND stay warm while doing it.

Layer Like Your Life Depends On It

Your base layer should be moisture-wicking thermals. Your mid-layer should be insulating fleece or down. Your outer layer needs to be waterproof and windproof. Between sets when you're dancing hard, you'll heat up fast—but the moment you stop moving or the wind picks up, you'll freeze. Packable layers you can tie around your waist are clutch.

For footwear, waterproof snow boots are non-negotiable. The venue can get slushy, muddy, and icy depending on conditions. Those cute platform sneakers you wore to EDC? Leave them home. Hand and toe warmers are absolute festival essentials here—grab a bulk pack before you go because they sell out at the venue.

Making Snowglobe Unforgettable

So who is ready to hit the slopes by day and rage by night? Snowglobe offers something truly special: the chance to welcome the New Year in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, surrounded by your rave fam and world-class artists. The combination of snow-covered pines, mountain air, and bass-heavy beats creates an atmosphere you won't find at any other festival.

Get all your cute warm snow gear together, pack those layers, prep your shuttle logistics, and prepare for an amazing experience. Whether you're a Snowglobe veteran or this is your first mountain festival, the magic of Lake Tahoe on New Year's Eve is something every raver should experience at least once. Just remember: dress warm, dance hard, and leave no trace. See you on the mountain.
