Love to hit the slopes for New Years but also want to rage through the night? Snowglobe is the perfect event for you! This festival takes place in California at the Lake Tahoe Community College. The temperature may be cold but the lineup is straight fire! Artists including Eric Prydz, RL Grime, Wax Motif and many more! Snowglobe has teamed up with Brownies & Lemonade to serve you three days of some seriously saucy beats.
What separates this event from many others is its dedication to sustainability. Last year the festival donated 200 sugar pine seedlings to help restore part of the beautiful forest of Lake Tahoe. This year they have committed to double that and are planning to donate 400. They have partnered with Waste Free Earth to help drive the fight for a virtually waste-free festival. Waste Free Earth has worked to divert over 250,000 pounds of trash at events and festivals by implementing their compostable cutlery. Snowglobe has made the switch from plastic to all compostable cups, plates, utensils and everything else. These efforts make a huge difference in a greener planet.
Because Snowglobe is so environmentally conscious, they do not allow things such as totums or outside food and drink. Below you can see the list of items allowed and not allowed into the venue.
As for amenities, Snowglobe has lockers for purchase, delicious food and beverage trucks, professional snowboarder half pipes and an email list that allows you to check in before the event and ask any questions you might have. They also offer bus transportation from select hotels, as well as a bundle package where you can buy your ticket and shuttle pass all in one. But be careful and make sure the hotel you booked is a shuttle stop. I can tell you from personal experience, that it does not stop at every hotel, and they do not refund you if you make that mistake.
Let’s talk about the ticket situation here for a minute. This is a very popular event and tickets often sell out fast. This year is no different, all of the single day and 3-day general admission have sold out. But fear not! Last change general admission, VIP, third-party ticket platforms and people who are selling theirs are still available. They also give you the option to pre-order a portable charger for your cell phone and other chargeable items you want to have at your disposal during the festival. Another interesting thing about this event is that it is all ages. So if you want to make it a family event you can! Children Under 10 are granted free entry.
Snowglobe is cold as F**K. So be prepared. Temperatures can get as low as below freezing. It can literally snow at times. So please please please wear the appropriate clothing. I recommend you wear your actual snowboarding jacket and pants. Ladies if you don’t want to commit to the pants, I got away with thermals and two pairs of leggings over it with some thigh high sweater socks, but staying dry and warm is much more important. There are definitely some really cute gloves and beanies on the market so you can look cute and stay warm while doing it.
So who is ready to hit the slopes by day and rage by night? Get all your cute warm snow gear together and prepare for an amazing experience.
